ABOUT PARIS STAVRINIDIS

 Born in Cairo in 1951 to Greek parents from Pontus, Paris spent his earliest years in a city where cultures, languages and histories met. At the Ambeteios School, the first foundations of memory, identity and imagination were laid. 

 In 1963 his family moved to Athens. Paris continued his education while studying design, painting and decorative arts—disciplines that shaped his visual language and awakened a lifelong devotion to creative work. 

 In 1978 Paris made Melbourne his home. Here he continued to write, paint and create, developing work that now embraces novels, poetry, philosophy, pottery, pyrography, music and video.
